Group 1 Information
10 a.m. Day at a Time (DAAT) Group 1 meeting was started when the DAAT Club was established in May 1987, and has been meeting continuously ever since. The Group 1 at DAAT is in Area 10 and meets at the Club located at 3355 S. Wadsworth Blvd. H125 in Lakewood. The group meets daily at 10 a.m.
During the Pandemic (when the Club was forced to close) Group 1 established a Zoom meeting that is held separately from the club meeting.
The zoom meeting has the following data:
Meeting ID: 825 6096 4532
Passcode: Group1

Both the in-house and Zoom meetings are very welcoming to newcomers and contain members with considerable sobriety.
Brief History
At the conception of DAAT, all meetings were under the singular Group 1. That meant daily meetings at 10 a.m., noon, 3 p.m., and 8 p.m. Over the years, Group 1 created dedicated time for beginners, book study, and traditions meetings. Group 1 members also generated meetings for women only and early birds at 6:30 a.m.
Activities organized by Group 1 included ice cream socials, bowling night, river rafting on the Arkansas River, and one summer a softball team. A unique function in the ‘98-’99 timeframe were movie nights held monthly with features such as My Name is Bill, Days of Wine and Roses, and The Lost Weekend.
Specific challenges which the Group 1 has addressed included transitioning out of smoking meetings (settled by state law), including parents needing childcare, and the group’s prudent reserve. At one point, money was so dear the group entertained the idea of building up the prudent reserve before paying room rent.
With time Group 1 members, desiring to create more service positions: Group Service Representative (GSR), corrections, treasurers, and realizing that the direction of different meetings meant that autonomous groups needed to form. Thus meetings and new groups such as Oasis at 8 p.m. and Newners at noon came forth. By November 2012, Group 1 was just 10 a.m.
Money issues have always been discussed by the group. Besides being good tenants of DAAT the groups wished to distribute excess reserves to the Central Office, corrections, area, district, and the general fund. By the grace of God, Group 1 maintains a healthy prudent reserve and in 2013 dispersed $1,588.18.
